Position Title: Boiler and Refrigeration Technician V
Position Type: Regular - Full-Time
Requisition ID: 43999
- Operate, monitor, start, run, and shut down high-pressure boilers and refrigeration systems supporting manufacturing operations.
- Read gauges, monitor system performance, and adjust controls to maintain required steam pressure, water levels, and operating conditions.
- Conduct routine inspections of boilers, freezer tunnels, cooling towers, and related utility equipment.
- Perform water chemical testing and assist with feed water and fuel treatment processes as required.
- Check fluid levels and lubricate equipment according to maintenance schedules.
- Monitor systems manually and through computerized operating platforms and databases.
- Perform daily sanitation and support downtime cleaning activities.
- Operate forklifts safely in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Follow all safety requirements, including PPE usage, confined space procedures, and reporting of unsafe conditions.
- Support McCain Competitive Edge and Lean Manufacturing initiatives focused on Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People (SQCDP).
- Valid State of Maine Boiler Operator’s License required prior to placement.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum three months of related industrial, boiler, utility, maintenance, or manufacturing experience and/or training.
- Ability to complete certification through the McCain Operator Training Program.
- Ability to obtain and maintain McCain Forklift Certification.
- Ability to read and interpret safety procedures, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and technical documentation.
- Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret graphs.
- Ability to learn and effectively use touch-screen control systems and Infinity Database software.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, dependability, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work onsite in a manufacturing environment and meet attendance, overtime, weekend, holiday, and business operational requirements.
Compensation Package: - Starting at 28.38 USD hourly + Bonus eligibility + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts
