The HVAC Apprentice II requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience to complete routine and standard projects and assignments within the Technician Services family. Works under general supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Maintains a safe work environment at all times. 

  • Performs HVAC equipment maintenance, service, and/or replacement as directed. 

  • Documents work process hours daily. 

  • Attends related training classes and completes assigned training modules. 

  • Completes written tests and performance profiles as required by the apprenticeship program. 

Minimum Job Requirements 

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.  

  • The ability to manage time well, follow the health and safety protocols, and have a strong desire to learn.

  • Successfully completed HVAC Technical School.

  • EPA

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Effective and efficient time-management and organizational skills 

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record 

  • Ability to stand and walk and to climb ladders and attic stairs and to maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces to access HVAC units. Ability to continually climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. 

  • Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including but not limited to the following: hot, cold, outdoor, indoor, dry, humid, slippery surfaces, heights, and congested areas 

  • Ability to safely climb 300lb load capacity rated ladders with a 30lb tool belt 

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds 

Working Conditions and Physical Effort 

  • Moderate physical activity, including: lifting to 50lbs and extended periods of walking and standing. 

  • Working in a combination of environments including: inside buildings, outside in various types of weather, in hot attics, crawlspaces, and basements. 

Minimum Experience: 0-1 years Minimum Education: High School Diploma/GED
