Full job details

Seeking a Commercial HVAC Estimator to join the onsite team in Lubbock, Texas. This is a high-visibility opportunity to become the first dedicated estimator in a rapidly growing branch, support a diverse commercial project portfolio, and help build the estimating function alongside branch leadership and sales.

What You'll Do as the Commercial HVAC Estimator:

  • Review bid invitations, commercial construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from mechanical plans
  • Prepare accurate HVAC equipment estimates, quotations, and proposals
  • Evaluate vendor pricing, equipment costs, margins, and product availability
  • Identify when represented product lines are not listed as the basis of design or as approved alternates
  • Communicate product and specification concerns to branch and territory leadership
  • Coordinate with mechanical contractors, engineers, Project Managers, and internal sales representatives
  • Submit complete bids by required deadlines
  • Prepare equipment submittals and communicate expected lead times
  • Maintain pricing, margin, bid, and project documentation in the company's shared systems
  • Manage multiple active estimates across varying project sizes
  • Support projects ranging from small equipment replacements to large commercial design-build developments
  • Assist with additional branch operations as the Lubbock office continues to grow

Must-Haves as the Commercial HVAC Estimator:

  • 2+ years of commercial HVAC, mechanical, or MEP estimating experience
  • Ability to read commercial construction drawings and technical specifications
  • Experience performing quantity takeoffs
  • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC equipment and systems
  • Experience preparing estimates, quotations, or bid proposals
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and estimates simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and pricing accuracy
  • Stable work history
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software
  • Ability to work onsite in Lubbock

Nice-to-Haves as the Commercial HVAC Estimator:

  • Experience working for a commercial mechanical contractor
  • Experience working for an HVAC manufacturer's representative
  • Experience with commercial design-build projects
  • Knowledge of VRF systems, rooftop units, split systems, chillers, boilers, air distribution, and exhaust systems
  • Experience preparing equipment submittals
  • Bluebeam experience
  • Familiarity with vendor pricing and margin management
  • Knowledge of manufacturers such as York, Scott Springfield, Tempeff, Marlo, Direct Coil, Samsung, Mitsubishi, GasMaster, Jetson, Krueger, Durkee, FabricAir, Kees, Canarm, Acme, Twin City, C&S Metal Products, or Cody Manufacturer
  • Existing relationships with commercial contractors and engineers in the Lubbock or West Texas market
