Job Description
American Industrial Contractors is seeking a Jr Pipe Fitter or Pipe Fitter Helper to join our commercial HVAC installation team Greensboro, NC. You must be able to work in varying environmental conditions, including elevated positions, and collaborate effectively with team members. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to projects that power the region’s industrial and commercial infrastructure.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, layout, and assemble HVAC piping systems for commercial and industrial projects
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe including copper, steel, and PVC piping
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to ensure accurate installation.
- Perform brazing, soldering, and welding on piping systems as needed.
- Support HVAC equipment installation such as chillers, boilers, air handlers, and pumps.
- Maintain compliance with all safety procedures and company policies.
- Measure, cut, thread, and assemble piping for chilled water, hot water, steam, and/or gas systems.
- Install valves, pumps, strainers, expansion tanks, and other hydronic components.
Qualification Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 years of commercial HVAC or Plumbing experience with specific experience in piping
- Experience with threaded pipe and operating threading machines
- Experience working withcopper pipe such as soldiering, brazing and pro-press
- Experience with PVC pipe work
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and work for long periods of time
- Ability to work effectively in varying climate conditions
- Ability to safely perform tasks at both ground level and elevated heights using ladders, scaffolds, or aerial lifts
