Full job details

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanic to join our construction team. This role involves installing, assembling, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems on commercial and/or residential construction projects. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, can read blueprints, and works well in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install HVAC systems including ductwork, piping, units, and controls according to project specifications and codes

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings

  • Measure, cut, and assemble duct systems and components

  • Test HVAC systems for proper operation and troubleshoot issues

  • Perform system start-ups and ensure proper calibration

  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades on-site

  • Follow all safety procedures and OSHA regulations

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area

  • Document work performed and report progress to supervisors

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED (technical or trade school preferred)

  • 2+ years of HVAC installation experience in construction (or apprenticeship equivalent)

  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles, and airflow principles

  • Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams

  • Familiarity with local building codes and safety standards

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and climb ladders

  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

  • Good communication and time management skills

Work Environment:

  • Construction sites (commercial, residential, or industrial)

  • Exposure to varying weather conditions

  • May require overtime, weekends, or travel depending on project demands
