Position Summary

The HVAC Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, service delivery, installation projects, staffing, and financial performance of the HVAC division. This role ensures that all HVAC services are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and operational excellence.


Onsite: Must reside in Virginia


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the HVAC service, maintenance, and installation teams.
  • Oversee scheduling, dispatching, and resource allocation to ensure timely project completion and service response.
  • Monitor project budgets, labor utilization, and operational costs to achieve profitability goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures, quality standards, and performance metrics.
  • Conduct regular field audits and inspections to ensure workmanship quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate HVAC technicians, supervisors, and support staff.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to support new business development and customer retention initiatives.
  • Review and approve proposals, estimates, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Manage vendor and subcontractor relationships to ensure quality service and cost-effective solutions.
  • Respond to escalated customer concerns and resolve service issues promptly.
  • Prepare operational reports and provide updates on performance, productivity, and financial results.
  • Maintain inventory control and oversee equipment procurement and asset management.
  • Support strategic planning and growth initiatives for the HVAC division.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of HVAC management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial and residential HVAC systems, maintenance practices, and installation procedures.
  • Experience within industry
  • Proven leadership experience managing multiple teams and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes, EPA regulations, and OSHA requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with HVAC service management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and scheduling systems.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between job sites as needed.


Preferred Qualifications

  • HVAC certification or licensing.
  • EPA Universal Certification.
  • Experience within facilities management or building services environments.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to visit construction sites, mechanical rooms, rooftops, and active work environments.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and inspect work areas as needed.
