HVAC Owner Sales Rep

Johnson Controls helps create smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings. In this owner-direct HVAC sales role, you will work with building owners and end users to connect technical and business solutions to real operating needs.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for selling Johnson Controls HVAC offerings, building long-term partnerships with assigned accounts, and growing renewable service agreements as a foundation for managed customer relationships. This role combines consultative selling, account development, and responsive support for existing and new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote Johnson Controls HVAC offerings to building owners and end users with a clear value-based approach.
• Build and manage long-term customer relationships with assigned accounts and owner representatives.
• Sell, renew, and expand renewable service agreements, including multi-year agreements.
• Qualify, cultivate, and close new sales opportunities through an effective sales process.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing and new facilities through repairs, replacements, and planned service agreements.
• Respond promptly to customer requests and prepare quotes for repairs, replacements, and planned service agreements.
• Link customer objectives to practical, competitive solutions that support business and operational goals.
• Differentiate Johnson Controls services and products through creativity, ingenuity, and innovation.
• Work with a Sr. Account Executive in a mentee relationship to support your development and productivity.

How You Will Do It

• Sell persuasively, persistently, and confidently while keeping the customer’s business objectives at the center of every conversation.
• Own outcomes with accountability, integrity, and quality by following through on commitments and managing opportunities responsibly.
• Stay close to the work by understanding how buildings operate and recommending solutions that remove obstacles for the customer.
• Build trust with owner representatives and decision-makers through steady communication, practical recommendations, and a consultative style.
• Improve every day by learning from feedback, using candor to sharpen your approach, and continually refining how you create value.
• Win as one team by partnering with branch colleagues and your Sr. Account Executive mentor to share insight and support account growth.
• Respond quickly and accurately to quotes and service requests so customers can move forward with confidence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of three years of successful field sales experience in HVAC, construction, or building systems.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build productive customer relationships.
• Demonstrated commitment to integrity and quality in business.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple customer opportunities.

Nice to Have

• Five years of success selling HVAC service or building automation systems.
• Experience selling renewable service agreements, planned service agreements, or owner-direct HVAC solutions.
• Exposure to building automation systems or other commercial building services sales.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $68,600-109,000. (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role also offers a competitive Sales Incentive Plan that will take into account volume and margin on a project, quarterly, and annual basis. This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
