Earn Doctor-Level Pay Without Doctor-Level Student-Loan Debt

M&J Services Inc. is looking for a motivated and experienced HVAC Sales Technician/Comfort Advisor who wants to control their own earning potential.

This is a 100% commission-based position with no guaranteed base salary or hourly wage. Your income will reflect your effort, follow-up, professionalism, customer service, and ability to close qualified HVAC opportunities.

We provide the company support, qualified customer leads, and opportunity. You bring the HVAC knowledge, discipline, and drive to earn your check.

Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct residential HVAC evaluations and in-home sales consultations.
  • Identify HVAC repair, replacement, installation, and maintenance needs.
  • Prepare accurate estimates and present customers with clear options.
  • Explain recommendations in language customers can easily understand.
  • Confidently ask for the sale without using dishonest or high-pressure tactics.
  • Follow up consistently on open estimates and unsold opportunities.
  • Sell HVAC systems, repairs, indoor air-quality products, and maintenance agreements.
  • Verify equipment measurements, sizing, electrical requirements, ductwork conditions, and installation details.
  • Accurately document estimates, customer notes, photos, and follow-up activities in FieldEdge.
  • Coordinate with the office, dispatch, technicians, installers, and management.
  • Meet established sales, revenue, closing-rate, and customer-satisfaction goals.
  • Represent M&J Services professionally throughout the Hampton Roads community.
Compensation

  • 100% commission-based position
  • No guaranteed base salary or hourly wage
  • Uncapped earning potential
  • Six-figure income opportunity for proven performers
  • Earnings based on completed sales and the company’s written commission plan
  • Commission terms, payment timing, cancellations, refunds, financing approvals, and chargebacks will be explained in the compensation agreement
Required Qualifications

  • Residential HVAC sales, service, installation, or comfort-advisor experience
  • Strong knowledge of residential heating and cooling systems
  • Ability to evaluate systems and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Strong sales, communication, and customer-service skills
  • Confidence asking for the sale and overcoming reasonable objections
  • Consistent follow-up and strong organizational skills
  • Self-motivated, competitive, professional, and accountable
  • Comfortable working in a performance-driven, commission-only position
  • Ability to use mobile applications, email, digital estimates, and customer-management software
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass applicable pre-employment screenings
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and peak-season hours
Preferred Qualifications

  • EPA Section 608 certification
  • NATE certification or other recognized HVAC credentials
  • Experience using FieldEdge or similar HVAC software
  • Proven history of meeting or exceeding HVAC sales goals
  • Knowledge of equipment sizing, airflow, ductwork, financing, and rebate programs
  • Familiarity with Newport News and the greater Hampton Roads area
Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Climb ladders and safely enter attics, crawl spaces, and mechanical rooms
  • Stand, bend, kneel, and move throughout residential properties
  • Work in hot, cold, humid, or confined conditions when necessary
