Position Summary:
This HVAC Service Tech is responsible for maintaining and repairing HVAC and mechanical systems across a variety of sites, ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulations. The position combines hands-on technical work with preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and the use of service management technology to deliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a positive customer experience by completing HVAC installations, service, and maintenance correctly the first time with quality workmanship and adherence to all applicable codes and company standards to minimize refunds and recalls.
- Install, service, maintain, and troubleshoot light commercial HVAC systems and related equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
- Perform thorough HVAC inspections, including Health and Safety Checklists, and clearly communicate findings and repair or replacement options to customers using written option sheets.
- Prepare detailed findings reports, including photos, when issues are identified, and present recommended solutions and associated costs to customers.
- Understand when to issue “Lock Out/Tag Out” tags and complete all required follow-up procedures.
- Maintain accurate pricing, documentation, and job records, including service details, equipment information, materials used, warranty processing, and required administrative paperwork.
- Coordinate with managers and other departments to ensure efficient scheduling, follow-up appointments, warranty processing, and successful completion of job objectives.
- Facilitate ordering and preparation of materials and parts required for service and installation appointments.
- Record all materials used for accurate job costing, inventory tracking, and replenishment.
- Transport and maintain accountability for assigned tools, materials, and equipment.
- Protect customers’ property while working and leave work areas cleaner than when work began.
- Inform leadership if HVAC systems are not fully operational before leaving a job site.
- Manage performance in alignment with company scorecard metrics and expectations.
- Report all safety concerns, incidents, or hazards to leadership promptly.
- Technology Utilization – Use platforms like ServiceTitan and CorrigoPro to manage service requests, track maintenance activity, and optimize workflows.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 1-2 years of HVAC experience.
- Proficiency with technology platforms such as ServiceTitan and CorrigoPro.
- Availability to work Monday–Friday, with flexibility for occasional emergency response.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% during working hours.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle record (MVR) screening.
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally and 60 lbs regularly
- Comfortable working at heights up to 60 feet, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and aerial lifts
- Regularly performs tasks involving squatting, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead
- Capable of moving and setting up ladders and materials without assistance
- Ability to identify problems or potential issues in systems and respond appropriately under supervision
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, and electrical hazards with appropriate PPE
