Overview
Looking to TRADE UP to a better opportunity? Champion AC of Austin is seeking an experienced and customer-focused HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and/or light commercial heating and cooling systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a commitment to safety and quality, and a passion for helping customers stay comfortable year-round.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless systems
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding issues, proposed solutions, and service details
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with industry standards and local codes
- Maintain accurate records of services provided using company software or service tickets
- Educate customers on system operation, maintenance tips, and energy efficiency options
- Collaborate with dispatch, sales, and installation teams as needed
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good working condition
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures
- 3-5 years of experience as an HVAC service technician
- 3-4 years of HVAC Sales experience
- EPA Certification (Type II or Universal) required
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various conditions (attics, crawlspaces, outdoors, etc.)
- Availability for rotating on-call shifts and emergency service as needed
- HVAC Trade School diploma or equivalent
- NATE Certification a plus
- Experience with smart thermostats and high-efficiency systems
