Job Summary:

Experience and/or skills required:

Must have mechanical ability for use of tools and equipment, knowledge of diagnosis and repair of HVAC system components.

Licenses/Certifications Required

HVAC Technician Certification

Job Hazards/ Physical Demands

Work is medium to heavy, involving lifting and carrying objects up to 100 pounds. Work inside and outside under all weather conditions. Subject to noise and shock from machinery and equipment. All employees must be physically fit to work within their job capacity. In order to safely complete their job description, annual satisfactory health assessment required including annual Tuberculosis screening.

Job Duties/Job Descriptions

  • Supervises and assists workers in setting up, installing, repairing and maintaining mechanical devices and equipment
  • Supervises and assists in plumbing and electrical activities and maintenance
  • Diagnoses heating and air conditioning systems and performs repair
  • Performs preventive maintenance on all required systems
  • Keeps records of work completed
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions
  • Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
  • Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc. and maintain the appearance of work areas. Must perform regular inspections
  • Must identify specific needs of different age groups of patients and visitors from pediatric to geriatric, be aware of needs of specific groups, hearing, and sight impaired and physically challenged and have the ability to communicate and interact with same
  • HIPAA Compliance: Every employee must comply with the laws and regulations of federal and state. These laws protect the privacy, confidentiality and security of patient care and their information
  • Performs related assigned duties
  • Performs unrelated assigned duties in times of emergency
  • Performs other duties as assigned or when necessary
