Lead HVAC Service Technician – Operations Manager Track

Company: One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning
Location: Utah County, Utah
Job Type: Full-Time

Be More Than a Technician. Help Build Something Great.

Are you an experienced HVAC technician who loves solving problems, takes pride in doing things right, and genuinely enjoys working with people?

Do you see yourself leading a team someday, but haven't had the opportunity to take that next step?

We want to meet you.

One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning is launching a new, locally owned operation in Utah County, and we're looking for an exceptional HVAC Service Technician who wants to grow with us.

This isn't just another technician position.

We're looking for someone who can become a foundational member of our team, help establish our company culture, and develop into a leadership role as we grow—with the potential to become our future Operations Manager.

You'll start by doing what you do best: providing outstanding HVAC service to customers. As our business grows, you'll have opportunities to take on additional responsibilities, mentor new technicians, help improve our operations, and eventually lead the team.

We're looking for someone who's great at their job today and excited about who they can become tomorrow.

What You'll Do

Deliver Exceptional HVAC Service

Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial HVAC systems.
Provide honest, accurate recommendations that help customers make informed decisions.
Communicate clearly with homeowners, explain technical issues in understandable terms, and build lasting customer relationships.
Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, punctuality, workmanship, and customer care.
Take pride in your work, your appearance, your equipment, and your company vehicle.
Follow established safety procedures and industry best practices.

Help Build a Great Team

As our business grows, you'll have opportunities to:

Help recruit, train, and mentor new HVAC technicians.
Share technical knowledge and help others improve their skills.
Set an example for professionalism, accountability, and exceptional customer service.
Help establish processes and best practices that make our team more effective.
Support technicians with difficult diagnoses and escalated customer concerns.
Work directly with ownership to identify opportunities to improve the business.

Grow Into Operational Leadership

For the right person, this position offers a path toward an Operations Manager role, with increasing responsibility for:

Leading, coaching, and developing our service team.
Coordinating daily service operations, scheduling, and dispatch.
Monitoring key business metrics, including customer satisfaction, technician productivity, revenue, and profitability.
Helping technicians improve both technical performance and customer experience.
Building a positive, high-performing team culture.
Improving operational efficiency and developing processes that support business growth.
Helping make decisions that shape the future of our company.

This is a hands-on technician role initially, with leadership responsibilities expanding as the business grows.

Who We're Looking For

Technical Excellence

Several years of successful experience servicing residential HVAC systems.
Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair skills.
A commitment to high-quality workmanship and doing the job right.
Applicable HVAC certifications and credentials.
NATE certification preferred but not required.
Valid driver's license and driving record acceptable under company insurance requirements.
Ability to meet applicable background screening and employment requirements.

Exceptional People Skills

This is just as important to us as your technical ability.

We're looking for someone who:

Genuinely enjoys interacting with customers and coworkers.
Can explain complicated technical problems in a way customers understand.
Makes people feel comfortable, respected, and confident.
Handles difficult situations with patience and professionalism.
Builds trust through honesty, integrity, and follow-through.
Understands that exceptional customer service is what builds a successful business.

A Desire to Grow

We want someone who:

Has ambitions beyond their current position.
Takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do.
Is eager to learn new skills, including leadership and business operations.
Takes ownership of problems and follows through on solutions.
Welcomes feedback and is always looking for ways to improve.
Enjoys teaching, mentoring, and helping others succeed.
Wants to be part of building something, not just collecting a paycheck.

Previous management experience is a plus, but it is NOT required.

We're more interested in finding the right person with the right attitude, abilities, and potential.
