Position Summary

George Brazil is seeking an experienced and customer-focused HVAC Service Technician to join our team. The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining residential heating and air conditioning systems while delivering exceptional customer service.

The ideal candidate is a skilled technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, communicates effectively with customers, and is committed to safety, professionalism, and doing the job right the first time.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot residential HVAC systems and identify required repairs.
• Perform maintenance, repairs, replacements, and installations of heating and cooling equipment.
• Inspect HVAC systems and components to identify safety, performance, and efficiency issues.
• Clearly explain system conditions, recommended repairs, and available options to customers.
• Provide accurate recommendations based on customer needs and system condition.
• Complete service calls efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, equipment, parts, and recommendations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow company safety policies, procedures, and applicable HVAC codes and regulations.
• Communicate professionally with customers, dispatchers, managers, and other team members.
• Participate in ongoing technical and product training.
• Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicle in accordance with company standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance, comfort, and energy efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous residential HVAC service experience required.
• Strong knowledge of residential heating and air conditioning systems.
• Ability to diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration-related HVAC issues.
• EPA certification required or ability to obtain within the required timeframe.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
• Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
• Ability to lift equipment and materials and perform physical tasks associated with HVAC service work.

Preferred Qualifications

• HVAC technical school or trade school training.
• NATE certification or other industry certifications.
• Experience with a variety of residential HVAC equipment and manufacturers.
• Experience presenting repair and replacement options to homeowners.
• Strong understanding of residential HVAC electrical and refrigeration systems.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

• Lift, carry, push, and pull HVAC equipment, tools, and materials.
• Work in confined spaces, attics, crawl spaces, and other challenging environments.
• Climb ladders and work at elevated heights.
• Bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work in various physical positions.
• Work in hot, cold, and other outdoor weather conditions.
• Safely operate tools and equipment required for HVAC service.
