Description

 McWilliams | Livingston, TX | Full-Time

McWilliams is hiring an experienced HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain residential heating and cooling systems while delivering a 5-star customer experience. This is a customer-facing service role: you'll troubleshoot the problem, present clear options to the homeowner, and earn the work. Success is measured by technical accuracy, customer satisfaction, and consistent service and sales results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential HVAC systems — air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, and mini-split systems.
  • Perform maintenance and tune-ups on heating and cooling equipment.
  • Present clear, good, better, and best repair and replacement options to homeowners, along with pricing and financing information.
  • Recommend and enroll customers in maintenance memberships / service agreements.
  • Accurately document all work, findings, and recommendations in ServiceTitan.
  • Keep the service truck clean, stocked, and inventory accurate.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and the dispatch/office team.
  • Participate in the on-call / rotating schedule as needed.
  • Perform all work to code and company safety standards.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of residential HVAC service experience — diagnosis and repair, not install-only.
  • EPA 608 Certification (required to handle refrigerant).
  • Proven ability to diagnose issues and clearly communicate repair or replacement options to homeowners.
  • Strong customer-service and communication skills; comfortable presenting and selling solutions in the home.
  • Valid Texas driver's license and clean driving record; approved to drive under company insurance requirements.
  • Comfortable working in attics, crawlspaces, confined areas, hot environments, and performing physically demanding work.
  • Must be able to use a tablet, smartphone, and service software.
  • Neat, clean, professional appearance and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen.

Working Conditions

  • Field-based role requiring daily travel to residential homes.
  • Work performed indoors, outdoors, in attics, and crawlspaces.
  • Requires PPE and safety-conscious behavior.
