Full job details
HTS Engineering Ltd. is the largest independent commercial HVAC manufacturers’ rep in North America, with 20 locations in the US and Canada. HTS has a vibrant look and brand promise -- one that reflects our company-wide commitment to ensure the individual success of all those involved in a project’s HVAC system selection, design, purchase, installation and maintenance including our employees, suppliers, customers and end users.
We are seeking an HVAC Estimator who will play a key role in pursuit of projects across different market verticals. This role supports both plan-spec and design-build opportunities, working closely with our design, project development, purchasing, and construction teams from the initial review through project turnover.
This position is ideal for a motivated professional with 2–10 years of experience who is eager to expand their technical expertise and grow into a future leadership role within a rapidly scaling organization. The ideal candidate combines strong take-off and pricing skills with sound judgement about scope, constructability, and risk. They are comfortable managing multiple deadlines, building relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, and taking ownership of their bids.
Responsibilities
- Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs for complete project estimates.
- Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to define HVAC scope and identify gaps, risks, and opportunities.
- Perform quantity takeoffs for equipment, ductwork, piping, insulation, controls, and related HVAC components.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor proposals, confirming scope coverage and qualifications.
- Prepare bid clarifications, exclusions, alternates, and value engineering options.
- Collaborate with the internal design team to price conceptual and design-build solutions as they develop.
- Participate in bid reviews and help establish pricing strategy with preconstruction leadership.
- Coordinate with Project Managers and field leaders to validate labor assumptions and construction approaches.
