We're a small, tight-knit team, and we're intentional about who we add to it.
How the Pay Actually Works
This is performance-based pay with real, published numbers — not a mystery formula:
- 20% commission on repairs you sell and complete — capacitors, motors, boards, thermostats, and everything in between
- 3% commission on full system replacements you turn over to our Comfort Advisors — they close it, you still get paid
- Flat rate on the service items commissions don't cover — maintenance visits, warranty work, training, meetings, etc.
- Service-call fees stack with commission — you earn the diagnostic fee and the repair commission on the same visit
- Overtime calculated on your full earnings — commissions and spiffs included in the rate, not just base pay (RROP)
- PTO paid at your average effective rate — if you earn like a $50/hr tech, your time off pays like it too
Our experienced techs average $45–$55/hr effective. Skilled techs who communicate well with customers win under this plan — that's exactly who it was built for.
Why Techs Move Here
- No pressure selling. We present good/better/best options honestly. Your commission comes from doing right by customers, not squeezing them.
- A team that has your back. Small crew, experienced dispatchers, an office that actually communicates with customers so you're not fielding angry calls in a 110° attic.
- Year-round work. Strong maintenance membership base keeps the schedule full in shoulder seasons — no winter layoffs.
What You'll Do
- Run residential HVAC maintenance, service, and repair calls with accuracy and professionalism
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues and explain findings in plain English
- Present repair vs. replacement options straightforwardly — real choices, not pressure
- Document work thoroughly in ServiceTitan
- Represent Advanced Air Conditioning + Heating with the same care you'd bring to your own home
What You Bring
Required:
- TDLR ACR technician registration in good standing (you'll work under our contractor license)
- EPA 608 certification (Universal preferred)
- 2+ years hands-on residential service and repair experience — this is not an entry-level role
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
- Physical readiness for Texas summers: attics, crawlspaces, rooftops
Bonus points:
- TDLR Certified Technician or Contractor License
- Experience with American Standard / Trane equipment and communicating thermostats
- Comfort presenting good/better/best options to homeowners
Benefits
- Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance - Supplemental benefits available
- PTO accrual starting after 90 days — paid at your effective rate, not base
- 401(k) with up to 4% match after 1 year - Paid training - Weekly pay
